Description
The Rapidé Tigre has been developed over three years, each 4130 chromoly tube has been custom shaped and butted specially for us by our tube makers.
The seat stays are horizontally ovalized for vertical compliance, traction and vibration absorption while providing extra lateral stiffness for enhanced power transfer efficiency.
The seat tube is an over sized diameter to provide a stiff and efficient peddling platform and core to the frame and visibly tapers to accommodate the seatpost.
The down tube is oversized and multi butted for strength and weight.
The top and down tubes are reinforced at the headtube for extra strength.
The double butted top tube is shaped to provide vibration absorption and rigidity around the seat cluster. The top tube is dropped for extra stand over clearance and allows the rider extra space for positioning themselves.
The forged tapered head tube proves a rigid structure to the forks to enhance handling and uses a Zero Stack headset for ease of setup and reliability. This also means the down tube can be attached to the head tube lower down to provide better support to the head tube which in turn enhances steering accuracy.
The drive side chain stay employs a plate system for massive tyre and chainring clearance without adding unwanted length or complexity. This also allows 6mm offset chainrings to be used even with Boost spaced rear hubs to give a better chainline.
The precision CNC’d sliding dropouts mean any tyre up to 29″ x 3″ wide can be accommodated and allow the chain stay length to be set to suit rider size and desired handling characteristics. Sliding drop outs are also the perfect way to tension the chain when the Tigre is configured as a single speeder.
The BB is a conventional 73mm threaded design for easy BB availability and reliability. An ISCG 05 mount is provided for versatility; chain guides and bash guards can easily be fitted.
The Tigre has been safety and durability tested to ISO4210 standards with all test being carried out on a single test frame rather than each test protocol being run on separate frames for extra assurance.

Michael B. –
The build is a work in progress, very excited to ride, quality and finish looks fantastic, and service, as always, far exceeded my expectations, well done Rapide’
Nicholas –
Excellent frame, great ride quality and very easy to set up
Heinrich –
Excellent product, still need to go on my first ride.
Ockert –
Great, efficient service thank you!
Jamie –
Awesome frame and service, very happy
Isac –
Love the bike, rides awesome and a surprising good climber as well.
Kathleen Rauch –
I loaded my new bike into the back of the car and drove from the Rapide´ to Mangrove, a restaurant and cultural center in Braamfontein just in time to join the Critical Mass night cycle through Johannesburg’s inner-city with an outrageous and dedicated group of cyclists.
What a grand way to initiate my new ride!
I’ve since put in a lot of kilometers on and off-road and am delighted with my Rapide´ Tigre. I love the geometry. I love the feel of the steel. Even though the frame is a little heavier, I feel like I have new wings!

Roetter –
Fantastic service.
Craig –
Fantastic service from Rapide, super fast and efficient. Highly recommended seller.
Keven –
Great geometry, the fact that the wheel base is longer translates into so much more control. Bike fit is perfect.
Cormac –
I have the bike at least 5 weeks and have ridden it about 15 times. My favoured trails are the more technical the better.
I’m running a 210mm dropper.
The rougher the terrain gets the more the bike rewards. You don’t get bounced around and the bike ploughs through rough trails.
The bike is also really good on jumps.I have more confidence than before and hence I am jumping further.
I run a 2.4″ tire up front, but I want to get a 2.6″ for the rear after the current 2.3″ tire wears out.
It is really nice having tire clearance on the back and the muddy rides of late has seen minimal mud build up.
Look the bike is steel and made to ride hard so it is not the lightest, But I can’t say my climb times have dropped. Power delivery to the rear is really good and feels direct.
This is the best hard tail I have owned to date.
De Villiers –
Super happy with my Rapide products, great service!!
Nicky –
The frame provides an agile ride on rocky trails when paired to a RS Pike with 140mm travel. Apart from the efficiency of a hardtail uphill, the bicycle really feels good on the accent.
Warrick –
Frame looks great and is well built. Haven’t ridden it yet as I’m still collecting pieces for the build, but I think it’s exactly what I was looking for.

Awesome looking frame
