Alpina Bladed Double Butted Spokes are made in Italy from high quality stainless steel.

Based in Lomagna, in the heart of Lombardia, Alpina Raggi S.p.A. was founded in 1926 and focuses its activity on the production of spokes and nipples. The constant attention of Alpina guarantees the quality of its products through constant controls of raw material before and during its in house production, as well as a long standing collaboration with the Breda scientific Institute of Milan for specialized testing and consulting regarding to product quality. Alpina Bladed Double-Butted spokes do more than save weight. Besides improving the aerodynamic qualities of the wheel the thick ends make them as strong in the highly-stressed areas as straight-gauge spokes of the same thickness, but the thinner middle sections make the spokes effectively more elastic, being bladed these spokes emphasize this quality. Alpina spokes & nipples are produced with an exact thread-tolerance for durability and the highest level of quality.

    Bought these for a lightweight “racing wheelset” I was planning.
    I used the Rapide hubs and a set of WTB KOM i23 rims in 29″.

    Very good spokes to build with, the threads are smooth and it’s quick to build the wheels with zero wind up in the spokes since you can see immediately if they are winding.

    The result was a ridiculously light and nimble wheelset and I am very pleased that I didn’t notice any additional flex in the wheels compared to the DT comp spokes I normally use. I built the wheels tight and their maiden ride was a 55km race. Perfectly straight still, no touching up needed.

    These will be my spokes of choice in the future, unless I opt for the cheaper round double butted spokes.

    Just recently had Wayne build my carbon nextie 29er mtb wheels with these spokes,,wheels ended up around 1370grams which is alot lighter than I expected,, Wayne built the wheels really stiff and so far they are brilliant spokes are very light and can stiffen most wheels very happy with the spokes and will use them for future builds for sure.
